Visit Historic Inns of Rockland by Car:

From Boston, (189 miles, 3½ hours): Take I-95 into the State of Maine to I-295, Exit 44 in South Portland. Then follow directions from Portland below.

From Portland, (82 miles, 1½ hours): Take I-295 North to Exit 28 to U.S. Route 1 North (Coastal Route) at Brunswick. Follow U.S. Route 1 to Thomaston and continue. Rockland is four miles further on Coastal U.S. Route 1. ALTERNATE FROM PORTLAND (RECOMMENDED FOR SUMMER SEASON): Continue on I-295 North to end and merge with I-95 North (Maine Turnpike). Proceed to Exit 109 (Augusta) and follow signs for Route 17 East to Rockland.

From Quebec, Canada (156 miles, 3½ hours): At the U.S. border, Route 173 South becomes Route 201 South. Follow Route 201 South and merge onto I-95 South. Proceed on I-95 South to Exit 109 (Augusta). Follow Route 17 East to Rockland.

Visit Historic Inns of Rockland by Air:

All major airlines fly into Portland (PWM) and Bangor (BGR). Colgan Air/US Airways Express provides direct flights to Knox County Regional Airport (RKD) in Owls Head (3 miles to Rockland) from Boston (BOS) and Portland (PWM). Limousine and shuttle-van service is available from Portland and Bangor and taxi service is available at Knox County Regional Airport. All three airports have car rentals available.

Visit Historic Inns of Rockland by Train:

Train service is available from Boston via Amtrak. Take Amtrak’s Downeaster from Boston’s North Station to Portland. From Portland, bus service on Concord Trailways is available to Rockland.
